Precision Connectors Built for Reliability

Engineered to deliver superior performance across industrial and electronic applications.

Round Pin Headers

Round pin headers, often referred to as machined pin headers, are a high-precision version of standard pin connectors. Instead of stamped and formed pins, they feature solid, machined round pins that provide a more robust and reliable connection with superior mating cycles. The corresponding round pin sockets contain multi-finger beryllium copper clips that ensure a consistent and gas-tight connection point. This design makes them ideal for high-reliability applications, military, and medical devices where connection integrity is paramount.

2.0mm Pitch Dual Row 2×8 Pin 180 Degree H2.8 Round Pin Female Socket Connector

As a universal round pin female header, the 2.0mm pitch 2x8 straight H2.8 round pin female header plays a key role in transmitting current and signals across the electronics, electrical appliance, and instrumentation sectors. Its 180-degree straight design and 2.0mm pitch, combined with a unique H2.8 round pin socket, offer a flexible and reliable interconnection solution for your devices, ensuring the efficient flow of data and power.

2.54mm Pitch Dual Row 2×3 Pin 180 Degree H3.0 Round Pin Header Connector

This 2x3 (6-pin) straight round pin header is an ideal choice for debugging interfaces like JTAG/SWD and for modular system designs. Using a standard 2.54mm pitch, its 3.0A current rating and robust round pins provide a more reliable and durable mating cycle than traditional square pins, ensuring high performance in automated soldering processes.

2.54mm Pitch Dual Row 2×10 Pin 180 Degree H1.9 L9.9 Gold Plated 1U Round Pin Header Connector

This low-profile (1.9mm height) 2x10 round pin header is engineered for space-constrained, high-density applications. Its 1U gold-plated pins ensure superior conductivity and corrosion resistance, ideal for servers, precision instruments, and embedded systems. The high-temp PA9T housing withstands reflow soldering, while a 3.0A rating makes it suitable for both signal and power transmission.

2.54mm Pitch Dual Row 2×5 Pin 180 Degree H3.0 beige Round Pin Header Connector

Featuring a distinctive beige housing, this 2x5 (10-pin) straight round pin header is perfect for applications requiring color-coding to prevent mismating in complex systems. It offers a high 3.0A current rating and durable round pins, providing a stable and reliable solution for various board-to-board or wire-to-board connections for engineers.

2.54mm Pitch Dual Row 2×5 Pin 90 Degree H3.2 Round Pin Header Connector

This 2x5 (10-pin) right-angle round pin header is optimized for parallel board stacking or PCB edge connections. The 90-degree design allows cables or mating connectors to exit horizontally, saving critical vertical space above the board. Its robust round pins and 3.0A current capacity ensure excellent performance in compact industrial equipment and embedded systems.
01Machined round pin selection guide

Round pins and precision sockets are a matched pair

The machined pin only works as intended with a compatible socket contact. Compare both drawings, then check engagement depth, alignment and PCB tolerances.

01

Pin and socket geometry

Match pin diameter, socket contact design, row layout and mating compatibility using the drawings for both components.

02

Mating depth and contact zone

Confirm that the pin enters the active contact area without bottoming out or leaving insufficient engagement.

03

PCB alignment and coplanarity

Review hole or pad geometry, connector alignment, board spacing and assembly tolerances for the complete pair.

04

Mating duty and materials

Define the expected use, finish, environment and service cycle, then verify performance on the selected product data.

02Precision interconnect roles

Where machined contacts earn their cost

Round Pin Headers suit controlled PCB interfaces that need a precision socket and repeatable engagement. A general stamped header may be the simpler choice when those features are unnecessary.

Application 01

Programming and test interfaces

Create a controlled mating point for fixtures, debugging equipment or production test when the socket and alignment are designed as a pair.

Application 02

Instrumentation modules

Connect removable boards or functional modules where compact precision contacts and serviceability are required.

Application 03

Precision PCB sockets

Use a machined socket system when the mating pin geometry and contact engagement need closer control than a general stamped interface.

Application 04

Replaceable subassemblies

Support removable circuits or modules when the real mating duty, alignment and contact requirements have been verified.

03Round Pin FAQ and RFQ

Nominal layout does not prove socket compatibility

Pin diameter, contact clip geometry and engagement depth have to agree. A shared row layout or contact count is not enough.

Is a Round Pin Header the same as a Circular Connector?

No. A Round Pin Header is a PCB header or socket system using round machined contacts. A Circular Connector is an enclosed cable or panel connector family.

Why choose round pins instead of square pins?

Machined round contacts can support a precision socket geometry and controlled engagement. The final choice depends on cost, mating duty, contact design and application evidence.

Can any round-pin socket mate with the header?

No. Pin diameter, contact clip geometry, engagement depth, tolerances and layout must be compatible.

How should mating life be specified?

State the expected service duty and environment, then request verified data or project testing for the selected contact system.
